The Mountain is located about 45 miles NNE of the city of San Diego. Repeater coverage is good to the south all the way into Mexico and north to the Orange County border. KA6UAI is a privately owned open repeater. This repeater decodes and encodes a 100 Hz PL tone. Using the CTCSS (PL decode) setting on your radio will block out distant repeaters on your receiver. See a snapshot of current conditions on the Palomar Mountain Webcam from mountain resident KB5MU's front porch. Here's an amusing segment about the mountain locals featured on "Biff Henderson's America" on the David Letterman Show. contact ka6uai@amsat.org
